| Objective: To summarize the experience of radical prostatectomy. Methods: In a retrospective study, from January 2000 to July 2006, 54 cases of radical prostatectomy were proformed. The patients were divided into 2 groups: radical retropubic prostatectomy (42 cases), laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (12 cases). Operative time, estimated blood, catheter detained time were statisticed . Biochemical failure, incontinence of urine, erection function were investigated in the cases followed-up. Results:The mean operative time of RRP was 168 minutes, compared to LRP(465min).The mean estimated blood of RRP was 831ml, compared to LRP(406ml). The difference of mean catheter detained time between these two kind of operations was not significant. 44 cases were followed up ,the mean time was 13 months,2 cases were reported urethral stricture,21 cases were reported incontinence of urine.Six months after the operation, 92. 1% cases were reported continence of urine. 8 cases showed biochemical failure with criterion as prostate specific antigen >0.4ng/ml. Another follow-up showed 56. 3% erection function covered during the cases who had nerve sparing. Conclusion: The radical retropubic prostatectomy remains the procedure choice for the cure of localized prostatic cancer, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy is another choice. With the developing recognition of anatomy and technique, reduce the complication , improve the long life quality. |
