Objective: To explore the treatment role of patients with intraventricular hemorrhage in the Glasgow and modified Graeb score.Data and Methods: All the patients were hospitalized from March 1999 to April 2007. All cases were in 1995 with the fourth National Conference on the diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease academic standards. All patients were confirmed the diagnosis of intraventricular hemorrhage by the head CT scan in 24-hour, medical treatment of 105 cases, of which 60 males, 55 females, with an average age of 62 years, surgical treatment of 75 cases, 43were males and 32 were females, with an average age of 57 years. It had no significant difference between the two groups in sex and age. All patients were given Glasgow score according to the early stage of consciousness and the patients of Glasgow score≥8 were given Graeb score according to the head CT, divides medical treatment and surgical treatment. The contrast between medical and surgical treatment compared with X2 test.Results:1.Glasgow score≥8, a total of 137 cases, 82 cases of medical treatment, and 16 patients died, a death rate of 19.51%; 55 cases of surgical treatment, and 5 patients died, a death rate of 9.09%. The difference was not statistically significant (p>0.05).Score<8 , a total of 43 cases,23 cases of medical treatment,13 patients died, a death rate of 56.52%; 20 cases of surgical treatment,4 patients died, a death rate of 20%.The difference was statistically significant (p <0.05).2 The patients of Glasgow score≥8 were given Graeb score according to the head CT , score 1-4 ,a total of 38, 24 cases of medical treatment , with a death rate of 0 ; 14 cases of surgical treatment, with a death rate of 0;Score 5-9 ,a total of 56 cases, 32 cases of medical treatment, and 2 patients died, a death rate of 6.25%;24 cases of surgical treatment, 2 patients died, a death rate of 8.33%. The difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05) ;Score 10-12,a total 43 cases, 26 cases of medical treatment, 14 patients died, a death rate of 53.85%;17 cases of surgical treatment,3 patients died, a death rate of 17.65%.The difference was statistically significant (p <0.05).Conclusions:1 Glasgow score <8, surgical treatment can reduce mortality.2 The patients of Glasgow score≥8 were given Graeb score according to the head CT , score 1-4, choice medical treatment; Score 5-9, medical and surgical treatment had no significant effect on mortality, either is ok;Score 10-12, choice surgical treatment .
