Expression Of P27Kip1 And Cyclin D1 In Human Gastric Carcinoma And Its Clinical Significance

Purpose :This study was designed to investgate the expression of p27Kip1 and cyclin D1 in gastric carcinoma in relation to biological behavior and approach its prognosis effect ,to help treatment for patients with gastric carcinoma.Methods : p27Kip1 and cyclin D1 expression at protein level were determined by immunohistochemistry technique in 50 patients with gastric carcinoma.Their diagnosis was obtained through electron fiberscopy and confirmed by pathological inspection. Each of specimen contains primary carcinoma tissue and side of carcinoma normal tissue that part from more than 5cm for carcinoma tissue.All of patients didn't receive any antineoplaston.Results :Of the 50 cases with gastric carcinoma,The positive rate of p27kip1 expression in gastric carcinoma was 44.0 %. The positive rate of cyclin D1 expression in gastric carcinoma was 48.0 %. p27Kip1 expression level was correlated with histological grade , depth of invasion , lymphnode metastasis , TNM stage( P < 0. 05), but had no relation with the tumor size , site as well as age of patient. Cyclin D1 expression level was correlated with histologicalgrade. analysis demonstrated better survival in the patients with higher p27Kip1 expression than in those with lower expression. the positive expression of p27Kip1 hasn't significant Correlation with the positive expression of cyclin D1.
