Objective: Discuss the clinical manifestation, auxiliary examination results of intestinal tuberculosis and analyse cases which were misdiagnosed, in order to improve the level of recognition and diagnosis.Methods: The data of 12 cases of intestinal tuberculosis which were hospitalized during Dec,2002 to Aug,2006 were analysed retrospectively.Results: The average age of patients was 34. The internal from onset to be diagnosed was from 2 month to 5 years, with 20 months as average. The most common symptoms were stomachache(92%), fever(92%), diarrhea(66%) by turns. 58% of the cases complicated with parenteral tuberculosis. The most common complication was intestinal obstruction. Gastrointestinal graphy was performed in 5 cases, lesions were detected in 4 cases. CT was performed in 5 cases, positive findings were detected in 3 cases. 8 cases got final diagnosis per colonoscopy and biopsy, 1 cases through Mycobacterium tuberculosis cultivation and 3 by operation and biopsy. The disease was predilection in the ileocecal junction, otherwise were ascending colon, terminal ileum, transverse and descending colon by turns. 2 cases were misdiagnosed for tumor, and other 2 were for Crohn's disease before final diagnosis.Conclusions: The clinical manifestations were non-specific. Colonoscopy and biopsy is the first choice, but need to combination with X-ray exam, PPD-Ab, germ cultivation and so on, and surgical exploration or diagnostic treatment sometimes.
