Objective: To farther understand laryngeal tuberculosis and to reduce therate of misdiagnosis.Method: We retrospectively studied 16 cases of laryngeal tuberculosis from 1998 to Aut. 2006. To evaluate the trends and the clinical changes in laryngeal tuberculosis.Results: 1. The laryngeal tuberculosis patients are older than the past years and this disease have kinds of infestations.2. Laryngeal tuberculosis presents a poorly defined clinical appearance.3. The sites of laryngeal tuberculosis lesions include true vocalcords,ventricular band and epiglottis which are more common than arytenoids.4. The most common laryngeal findings are localized granulomatous inflammation and caseating granulomas.Conclusion: To reduce the rate of misdiagnosis, we should pay more attention to the diagnostic problems which related to its atypical clinical appearance, proper inspection, and available biopsy .
