IntroductionLaparoscopic adrenalectomy have became a general operation in urinary surgery,and is considered as the new gold standard in adrenalectomy. There were more than 200 articles published in china. The author review their experience with laparoscopic adrenalectomy in 56 patients with benign adrenal neoplasms, Indication, control of complication and preference of operative pathway were discussed.Materials and Methods56 cases of laparoscopic adrenalectomy we have performed from Jan. 2006 to Jun. 2006,which contained 52 cases of retroperitoneal approach and 4 cases of transperitoneal approach,were analyzed.ResultsThe procedure was successfully completed in all the 56 patients with no necessity for conversions to open surgery. The operative time was 50~210 min(median: 120 min). The intraoperative blood loss was 5~300 ml(median: 20 ml). There were no otherintraoperative or postoperative complications except one case of fat liquefaction in the incision.ConclusionsWe have got satisfactory results on the treatment of most adrenal diseases by laparoscopic adrenalectomy. But a lot of work are still needed on the treatment of adrenal malignant tumor by laparoscopy.
