Objective: To study the clinical efficacy and operating technique ofvertebroplasty for patients with senile osteoporotic spine fracture, and definitude preliminarily clinical indication to offer correlative gist for clinical extend.Method: According to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,30patients with senile osteoporotic spine fracture underwent vertebroplasty(including Percutaneous vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty with Sky bone expander system) in different position in 1st affiliated hospital of Jinan University and the People's Hospital of Pan Yu district from April 2005 to March 2006 .Thirty Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),lateral X-ray films of the height of pathological vertebral and the degree of spinal kyphosis(Cobb 角), including the preoperative and three-day postoperative, three-month postoperative,six-month postoperative were measured. The different efficacy was educed by comparing preoperative with postoperative.Result: The height of pathological vertebral underwent kyphoplasty with Sky bone expander system recovered obviously, and in protrate position comparing with in lateral recumbent position increased obviously (F=4.253, P<0.05 ) .The height of pathological vertebra underwent Percutaneous vertebroplasty had no difference. After the operation the degree of spinal kyphosis and Visual Analogue Scale had reduced cleared, and in protrate position comparing with in lateral recumbent position had no difference(P>0.05).
