Electro-acupuncture Affected NR2B Subunit of Hippocampus inRats with Learning and Memory Disfunction Induced by IschemiaObjective To prove the positive effects of electro-acupuncture(EA) on learning and memory ability in rats with acute cerebral ischemia-reperfusion repeatedly and to illustrate the effect of EA on N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 2B subunit of the hippocampus in rats of learning and memory functional disturbance. To discuss the mechanism that how EA can improve the ability of learning and memory of brain initially. Methods The model rats with learning and memory functional disturbance induced by acute cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury repeatedly were divided into one model control group and five EA therapeutic groups including the 2Hz group, the 15Hz group, the 50Hz group, the 100Hz group and the 2/100Hz group. With the sham-operated control group there were seven groups altogether in our experiment. We measured the spatial learning and memory in all rats and detected the density of the excitotary amino acids (the glutaminic acid) and postsynaptic density-95(PSD-95) and protein expression of NR2B subunit of all rats after all EA therapeutic groups had been respectively stimulated with EA of different frequencies for an equal long time. Results First, the spatial learning and memory in all EA therapeutic groups was improved. The improvement of spatial learning capability in the 50Hz group was better than the others (P<0.01), the spatial memory capability was improved particularly in the 15Hz group (P<0.05).Second, EA reduced the...
