| Measles is acute systemic eruptive respiratory tract infection disease caused by the measles virus. Everyone is susceptible,and it is popular in all over the world. Measles has ever been a serious threat to life and health of the vast numbers of children, and it is one of the six infection diseases planed to expanded program immunization (EPI) by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the World Health Organization (WHO) estimation ,in the pre-vaccine era, about 130 million children worldwide fell ill per year,and 7-8 million children had died. Mevillin-L was available in early 1960s, with the performance of expanded program immunization, morbidity and mortality of measles reduced significantly. Currently, there are about 44 million measles cases annually, including 1 million infants and children have died from measles. Measles is a viral disease which is vaccine-preventable and number of deaths is the largest.Since measles vaccine (MV) has begun to be used in 1965 in China, especially the performance of planned immunization in 1978, the plating efficiency reported had been increasing. In the 1990s, measles vaccination coverage has achieved the third 85% objective of national EPI in time, retaining at 90%, thereby the incidence of measles and mortality sharply declined, and the work of measles control had made a great progress in changing the MV pro-measles natural pandemic circumstance, and the epidemic status had been under control effectively.The monitoring data on measles in 2004~2006 in Jilin province has been used to analysis and describe "Three Intervals distribution" features and factors of measles, and the etiology and pathogenesis of immunization has also been analysed . The results showed that the incidence of measles had been showed a lower level in Jilin Province in 2004, increasing to 7.82 per 100 000 in 2005, and from January to August in 2006 increasing to 19.44 per 100 000, and the incidence of measles showed a rising trend.
