Objective:To explore the relationship between the expression of Toll like receptor four(TLR4) in peripheral mononuclearcell and inflammation during cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Methods: Twenty patients with heart diseases underwent CPB were selected for this study. The changes of body temperature, respiratory frequency and heart rate were observed at five different time points—pre-anaesthesia, pre-CPB, 0 hours , 4hours and 24 hours post CPB. At each time peripheral venous blood was sampled. The white blood cell count, neutrophil count, the concentration of IL-6 and TNF, the expression level of TLR4 were detected at these five different time points. Both the concentration of IL-6 and TNF were measured by radioimmunoassay; The expression level of TLR4 were measured by RT-PCR.Results: The white blood cell count and neutrophil count bothcontinuted to rise from T2, The white blood cell count from T1 to T5were (4.93 ± 1.62) ×10~9/L, (5.42 ± 1.90)×10~9/L, (7.53 ± 2.76) ×10~9/L,(15. 33 ± 3. 86) ×10~9L, (16. 89 ± 4. 13) ×10~9/L;the neutrophil count fromT1 to T5 were (3.21 ± 1.27) ×10~9/L, (3.86 ± 1.53) ×10~9/L, (5.78 ± 2.34)...
