Objective: We examined the paraoxonasel gene polymorphisms in Chinese Han population to investigate the association between the Q192R and L55M with the incidence of both cerebral infarction(CI) and intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH),and weather these polymorphisms relate with the variations in serum lipid levels. Methods : The genotype and allelice frequency of paraoxonasel gene Q192R and L55M polymorphisms were assayed by polymerase chain react -ion—restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) in 216 CI patients, 88 ICH patients and 287 spouse-controls from Chinese Han population of 8 different hospitals. The lipids levels were all assayed by beijing fuwai hospital.Results:A. In this study from Chinese Han population, 16.75%(n=99), 41.12% (n=243) and 42.13%( n=249) were 192Q homozygotes, Q192R heterozygotes and 192R homozygotes;94.75%(n=560), 5.08% (n=30) and 0.17%( n=1) were 55L homozygotes , L55M heterozygotes and 55M homozygotes, respectively . The frequencies of Q/R, L/M alleles were 0.373/0.627 and 0.973/0.027.Compared with Caucasian and other Asian, the frequency of R allele in Chinese was significantly higher than in Italian ,...
