Objectives:The study was aimed to evaluate the relationship in the expression of P-gp and p53, the different type of syndrome and the sensitiveness of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer, and to investigate the killing effect of several combined chemotherapy with arsenious acid injection and topotecan on multidrug resistant(MDR) ovarian cancer . This will be helpful to investigate the mechanism of MDR in ovarian carcinoma and search some new agents in the inhibition of MDR and alternative treatment by TCM and arsenious acid injection according to the differentiation. Methods:First, we observed 113 women who are suffered with ovarian cancer. Combined with the standardized differentiation of TCM, the patients were analyzed with their characters to find out the characters of their syndrome types and try to investigate the mechanism of TCM about the mobidity in ovarian carcinoma.Secondly, we adopted immunohistochemical method to observe the expression of P-gp and p53 of 42 ovarian tumor samples. Moreover, we also adopted MTT assay to observe the killing effect and drug resistance of ovarian cancer cells on 24 fresh tumor samples and the MDR cell line, NIH-OVCAR-3, and to compare with the negative MDR cells, SK-OV-3 and HO8910.
