Objective: Use different setons cure high fistula, and compare the curative effect of the therapy in order to find out the merit and the flaw of these differrent setons. Methods: 42 patients were divided into therapy group and control group. Therapy group was divided into 3 groups after exploration during operation. They were therapy group A (slow cutting seton in the middle of the fistula); therapy group B (prolonged seton drainage) and therapy group C (fistula resection with no seton). Control group use the traditional slow cutting seton. Compare the curative effect, rate of recurrence, anal function and the degree of pain between the groups. Results: No in curative effect, the rate of recurrence and treatment course (P>0.05), but significant difference in the degree of pain and the anal function in therapy group B (P<0.05).Conclusion: In the precondition of the same curative effect and rate of recurrence, using the prolonged seton drainage is an effective resolution with advantages of better protection of anal function and fewer degree of pain. The study indicates the other groups are with no difference.
