| Objctive To observe the influence of Compound Glycyrrhizin Tablets (CGT) on serous TNF-α and IL-1β in rats with chicken type II collagen induced arthritis(CIA) and to explore the mechanism of CGT in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods The Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat rheumatoid arthritis model was established by subcutaneous injection in the tail with chicken type II collagen. We divided SD rats into 7 groups randomly. Disease progression was studied by clinical scoring of arthritis, measurement of serum levels of TNF-α and IL-1β and histological examination of synovium. Results 1.The incidence of arthritis in the total rats immunized with collagen II wasapproximately 68.2%, the incidence of arthritis in the male rats was 52.7% and the incidence of arthritis in the female rats was 83.6%. 2.The serous TNF-α levels of model group, CGT low-dose group, CGT moderate-dose group, CGT high-dose group, Glucosidorum Tripterygll Totorum(GTT) control group and prednisone control group were notably higher than those of the normal group( P<0.01). The serous IL-1β levels of model group, CGT low-dose group and CGT moderate-dose group were notably higher than those of the nonnal group( P<0.05).The serous TNF-α and IL-1β levels of the model group were higher than CGT moderate-dose group, CGT high-dose group, GTT control group and prednisone control group (P<0 .05). There was not statistic difference between CGT low-dose group, CGT moderate-dose group, CGT high-dose group, GTT control group and prednisone control group (P>0.05). 3. Histologic scores of rats received collagen II immunization were higher than that of normal control group(P<0.05). High-dose CGT could inhibit infiltration of inflammatory cell... |
