Objective Using the Single Index Evaluation Method, the Experts Method, the Shannon Entropy Method (SEM) and the Optimal Combined Weights Method (OCWM) to evaluate inhabitants'health status in Chongqing, and comparing the comprehensive evaluation results of the Experts Method, the Shannon Entropy Method and the Optimal Combined Weights Method, exploring the application of the Optimal Combined Weights Method in comprehensive evaluations on inhabitants'health status and other medical comprehensive evaluations. Methods 1.Using the family health inquiry schedule data of the Third Health Investigation of China in Chongqing, and choosing 19 districts as study objects and 6 disease indexes as evaluating indexes. 2. Conducting evaluation with the Single Index Evaluation Method on inhabitants'health status, and then conducting comprehensive evaluations on inhabitants'health status in Chongqing with the Experts Method, the Shannon Entropy Method and the Optimal Combined Weights Method. According to Optimization Theory (OT) and Game Theory (GT), we calculate the weight of every index in the Optimal Combined Weights Method on the basis of the Experts Method and the Shannon Entropy Method. Results 1.In the Single Index Evaluation every index can reflect special inhabitants'health problem, but we can't find an exact and uniform conclusion. 2. The Experts Method and the Shannon Entropy Method avoid the limitation of the Single Index Method, but there is a biggish difference...
