Hypericum is a large genus of herbs or shrubs, which occurs widely in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. There are 55 species and 8 subspecies in China, and more than half of them have been used as traditional medicine, mainly for the treatment of infectious hepatitis. Hypericum japonicum is a Chinese medicinal herb, which is a species of Hypericum, Guttiferae genera, and grows widespread in south of China. Hypericum japonicum showed bioactivies in antibacterial, protection of liver, anticancer and cardiovascular system action, and it was used as a part of Chinese medicine in gastrointestinal disorder, urgent and chronic hepatitis. Based on the bioactivities of this plant, we investigated chemical constituents of Hypericum japonicum grown in Guangxi. In our paper, we reported the investigation of the chemical constituents on Hypericum japonicum collected in Guangxi. 12 compounds were obtained from Hypericum japonicum by applying methods including solvent extraction, normal pressure column chromatography, vacuum liquid chromatography, gel liquid chromatography, extraction, recrystallization and so on. Structures of the...
