Objective: Under the guidance of tonifying qi,nourishing yin, promoting blood circulation and detoxifying, the purpose of this study was to explore the clinical effect of Modified Mai Tong Fang on diabetic foot ulcer and preliminarily analyze the compatibility characteristics and drug efficacy of this prescription by observing the effects of Modified Mai Tong Fang on blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood lipid,ABI,TBI,TCM syndrome integral, wound area and quality of life of each dimension score in patients with diabetic foot ulcer. It is also hoped that the results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the establishment of a comprehensive evaluation system of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer and some reference for clinical prescription medication. Methods:Forty patients with Wagner grade 1-4 diabetic foot disease who met the inclusion criteria were selected from the Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM and randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the ratio of 1:1.After the difference analysis of general basic data, the two groups had comparability in baseline.During the 12-week course of treatment, the control group was treated with western medicine based on general diet and exercise therapy, while the experimental group was treated with Modified Mai Tong Fang based on the control group. The statistical analysis of SPSS software was used to compare the blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin,ABI,TBI,TCM syndrome integral, wound area and quality of life of each dimension score in patients with diabetic foot ulcer after treatment. Finally, the actual curative effect of the two groups was generally evaluated.Results:(1)After treatment, the curative effect of TCM syndromes in the two groups was significantly different(P<0.05).The scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were significantly improved, with significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01);(2)After treatment, the fasting blood glucose?2h postprandial plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin in the two groups were significantly decreased, and there was statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.05);(3)After treatment, the total cholesterol and triglyceride of the two groups were significantly decreased, and there was statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.05);(4)After treatment, the ABI and TBI of the two groups were significantly improved, but there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05);(5)After treatment, there was no statistical difference in wound healing effect between the two groups(P>0.05).The wound area of both groups was reduced, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05).But there was statistical difference in the comprehensive curative effect between the two groups(P<0.05);(6)After treatment, the total scores of quality of life in the two groups were significantly reduced, with significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).The scores of each dimension in both groups were decreased, with statistical difference between the two groups in the physiological dimension(P<0.05),and significant difference between the two groups in psychological dimension and social dimension(P<0.01).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in treatment dimension(P>0.05).Conclusion: Modified Mai Tong Fang can improve blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood lipid,ABI,TBI,wound area,TCM syndrome integral and quality of life of each dimension score in patients with diabetic foot ulcer. It is suggested that Modified Mai Tong Fang can improve the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism, relieve the clinical symptoms and signs of the patients, shorten the treatment time, obviously improve the quality of life of the patients, thereby alleviating the pain of the patients and lightening the economic burden of medical treatment. It also highlights the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot ulcer.
