Objective: To discuss the mechanism of Shaoyang echo suited point to provide the theoretical evidence for the clinical therapy of acupuncture by observing the change of blood stream of brain and the clinical effect on migraine with Shaoyang echo suited point. Methods: 80 patients were randomly divided into the two groups with respective 40 patients, the acupuncture group treated by Shaoyang echo suited point and the control group treated by the oral Nimodipine in routine dose. To observe the clinical effect and the change of velocity of blood stream of brain on TCD after the short-term(one month ) and the long-term(six months ).Results: After one month, the clinical control rate of the acupuncture group was 90% and the total effective rate was 90.3%. The clinical control rate of the control group was 72.5% and the total effective rate was 60%.The acupuncture group was obviously prior to the control group (P<0.05). There was the significant differentiation before and after treatment on the average velocity of blood stream of ACA, MCA, PCA, VA and PA of the diseased side(P<0.01). And there was the significant differentiation between the treating group and the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The curative effect of the treating group was prior to the control group. Conclusion: Shaoyang echo suited point is a positive and effective way to treat migraine and prevent the attack of migraine and improve the attack frequency and degree and deserve the further extension and appliance. Acupuncture can effectively improve the all indexes, adjust the contractive and dilatation function of blood vessel and improve the function of blood stream of brain.
