Object: With the changing of the medical model and development of the modern health conception, the nursing model has changed and the nurses'function is extending. All these demand that the nursing science and the baccalaureate nursing education should match the international nursing trends and social needs. Thus, the baccalaureate nursing programs reform is imperative under the situation. The key of the reform is the curriculum system and curriculum design. It decides whether we can realize our baccalaureate nursing programs cultivatingobjective.Method: The study chooses the curriculum plans of the 19 nursing colleges which are embodied in the book published by ministry of education high education department in China and also chooses 19 nursing schools from top 36 which have passed the assessment by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission ( NLNAC ) in the United States. The research adopts both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, such as literature search, statistic analysis and case analysis and so on. Statistics are used Microsoft Excel and SPSS. Result: 1. The training objective in Chinese baccalaureate nursing programs is quite difference from it in American. In China the aims of training baccalaureate nursing students are focused on the master of the knowledge and nursing skills while in the United States, they are more focused on the training of the students'abilities.2. There is significant statistical diversity in the total credit hours of Chinese and American baccalaureate nursing programs. In China the credit hours of settled curriculum is 3357.58±484.17 while in the United States is 2037.07±250.55;p<0.05.Therfore the total credit hours of the settled curriculum in China are more than it in the United States.3. There is significant statistical diversity in the selective and compulsory subjects credit hours of Chinese and American baccalaureate nursing programs. In China selective subjects credit hours are 835.33±290.05 while in the United States are 134.40±84.39,p<0.05;In China compulsory subjects credit hours are 2467.27±357.091 while in the United States are 1928.00±267.65,p<0.05.4. The component proportion of the compulsory subjects in China are clinical subjects 37.84%,humanity subjects 20.87%,natural subjects 14.66%,physiological subjects 14.44%,pathological subjects 12.19% while in the United State are clinical subjects 41.59%,humanity subjects 36.28%,natural subjects 11.06%,physiological subjects 7.64%,pathological subjects 3.44%.5.
