Objective: To analyze the relation between dietary factor and type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in Xinjiang Uygur.Method: 61 patients with type 2 diabetes in Xinjiang Uygur were recruited, and there were 181 sex matched subjects with normal glucose metabolism as the controls. The environmental factors especially the nourishment environment were selected as independent variable and diabetes as dependent variable. Logistic regression analysis was applied to study the environmental factor in T2DM of Uygur. Result: The age, labor range, body-mass index (BMI), calories, the dietary fibers were significantly correlated with T2DM (P<0.01); saturated nutmeg acid, monounsaturated oleic acid, polyunsaturated linoleic acid were significantly correlated with T2DM (P<0.01). Conclusion: (1) The calories is the independent dangerous factor of T2DM in Xinjiang Uygur and carbohydrate without the dietary fiber protective is the most important dangerous factor of the calories; (2) Obesity which do not depend on calories, the labor strengths and age is the independent dangerous factor of the diabetes; (3) Without considering of other calories' contribution, the monounsaturated oleic acid is a protective factor of diabetes. Meanwhile, the polyunsaturated linoleic acid and the saturated nutmeg acid are dangerous factors of diabetes; (4) The environmental factors are the decisive factors of diabetes in Xinjiang Uygur. Having no exposure of environmental factors, it is hardly possible that the type 2 diabetes will occur..
