Background: Thromboangiitis obliterans (Buergers disease) affects the small and medium-sized arteries and veins in the upper and lower extremities. Patients are mostly young tobacco smokers. It is a autoimmune disease, and there is no specific treatment. All the treatment is to prevent the pathology to develope and improve blood circulation. The treatment include drug therapy, restruction of artery and lumbar sympathectomy(SM). But simple drug treatment cannot achieve ideal treatment effectiveness and restruction of artery is limited by the patient's self-condition. At present, SM assisting with drug treatment is relatively ideal and economical. Traditional lumbar sympathectomy allows safe and complete ganglionectomy at the expense of a painful muscle-cutting incision. So it's application remains limitation. With the development of minimally invasive surgery and the technique of vediolaparoscopy, laparoscopy is applicated to operate in retroperitoneal space. The clinical application of videolaparoscopy in the resection of sympathetic chain started in the beginning of the 1990s. video-assisted laparoscopic lumbar sympathectomy (VALLS) successfully combines the advantage of minimally invasive...
