| Objective: To study the changes of blood oxygen saturation and blood gas values and the relationship between SpO2 and SaO2 after severe traumatic brain injury Method: One hundred patients with acute severe head injury following the Glasgow coma scale were studied. From the first day to the seventh after injury, pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) was monitored by uninvassived monitor and blood sample from thigh arterial at the same time were analyzed. Results: The changes of blood oxygen saturation can reflect the brain injury progress and air way obstruction. Blood gas values can demonstrate the acid-base disturbances, which has close relation with the prognosis. Conclusions: Blood oxygen saturation monitoring is very helpful for the severe brain in jury, blood gas analysis can find hypoxia and acid-base disturbances early. SpO2 has good relativity with SaO2... |
