Objective: To explore the association between hypertension and serum lipids, FPG,alcohol drinking,smoking,and etc.factors in Mongolian people, So as to lay a foundation for the prevention and control of hypertension and its further etiological studies.Methods: On the basis of this survey ,eighteen villages in Mongolia were selected, and people who were eighteen years old at least were all chosen as subjects .One thousand one hundred and fourteen samples were investigated ,including four hundred and fifty eight hypertensives and six hundred and fifty six normotensives. Epidemiological method were used to investigate the risk factors including BMI and WHR ,and serum lipids and glucose were examined at the same time. All statistical analysis were performed using SAS and SPSS software.Results: 1.Both the body mass index (BMI) and ratio of waist to hip circumference (WHR) were significantly higher in the hypertensives than those in the normotensives, P<0.001. Adjusted for age and gender, the odds ratio (OR) of people with BMI≥24.0 versus BMI<24.0,and people with WHR ≥0.9 versus WHR < 0.9 were 1.16and 1.70,respectively. 2.Prevalence of alcohol drinking was 36.8% in hypertensive significantly higher than that in normotensives (26.7%), P<0.01.
