Objective To examine the changes of thyroid hormone(TH),thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH),prolactin (PRL),estrogen(E2),testosterone(T) in childhood with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).Methods The 32 ADHD children were divided into three groups , identified 19 ADHD-Combined type(ADHD-C),9 ADHD-Predominantly inattention type(ADHD-I),4 ADHD-Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type(ADHD-HI). 15 normal controls were recruited. The serum levels of TH,TSH,PRL,E2,T were determined with automated–chemoluminescence method. Results (1) The levels of free triiodothyrone(FT3) in groups of ADHD and its subtypes were in normal range ,but were obviously highter than that of controls(P<0.05). The level of triiodothyron(eT3)in the group of ADHD was in normal range ,but was obviously highter than that of controls(P<0.05). Thyroxine(T4) in the group of ADHD-I was in normal range, but it was obviously lower than that of controls(P<0.05). The levels of T4,free thyroxine (FT4 )in the group of ADHD-I were lower than that of ADHD-C (p<0.05) . The levels of TH were no significant different between the groups of ADHD-I and ADHD-HI,so do the groups of ADHD-HI and ADHD-C .(2) There was no significant different in the level of TSH in the...
