Cinnamaldehyde (CA, 2-Propenal, 3-phenyl), a fragrance ingredient used in many fragrance compounds, is a main compound of oleum cinnamomi (OC) which is a traditional Chinese herbal. In the past research, it is indicated that CA is a drug with multi-pharmacological effects such as antifebrile, abirritation, anti-eclamptic, anti-epiphyte, antivirus, anti-tumor, immuno-modulating, etc. And recent researches are mainly concentrated on its antibacterial, anti-tumor and immuno-modulating pharmacological effects, while its cardiovascular pharmacological effect remains to be researched. However, it was reported about 20 years ago that CA can cause anesthetized dog and guinea pig hypotension with undetermined mechanism. The present study used physiological experimental technique and NE-evoked contraction vessel model to investigate the effect of CA on cardiovascular system and its possible mechanism.1 Objective(1) To observe the influence of CA on cardiovascular system of anesthetized...
