Objective: The mental health of soldiers has been one of the most important issues which our domestic army concerns, and also has been one of the important issues in the field of military medical care all over the world. Military pilots was a special group and took special responsibility in military services. Especially the territorial high-tech war in the future would demand a high level of mental health of aviators.Though factors which affected mental health and the expression of mental disorder were various, mental health could be measurable.We should know that objective and accurate tools would provide a scientific basis for detection and intervention in case there were mental health problems.Mental health inventory of Chinese pilots (MHI) was created and edited by Song Huamiao et al. in 1992. It was the first scale made for appraising the personality and mental health of Chinese pilots in the history of Chinese aviation and aeronautic psychology.This scale could expose pilots' personality and behavioral tendency concerned with mental health and aviation.
