Objective: Rosco disk diffusion method was used to determine the antifungal susceptibility of dermatophytes. The result were compared with those obtained using a broth microdilution method with a commercial microdilution plate according an adaptation of the NCCLS-M38-P standard. Methods: 40 isolates of dermatophytes belonging to the species Trichophyton rubrum,Trichophyton mentagrophytes,Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum were tested using the two different methods.Result: All isolates produced clearly detectable growth at 30℃ within 7-9 day for reading with Rosco disk diffusion method. Most striains showed a broad zone of inhibition for TBF, ITZ and AMB.Using the broth microdilution method with jinzhang antifungal panel, the geometric mean MIC of amphotericin B, ketoconazole, miconazole, itraconazole fluconazole and terbinafin were 1.034μg/mL, 0.177μg/mL, 0.704 μg/mL, 0.359 μg/mL, 6.612 μg/mL and 0.022 μg/mL, respectively. Overall, agreement between Rosco disk diffusion method and microdilution method was excellent for TBF, ITZ and AMB, but bad to FCZ(especially for Trichophyton rubrum)Conclution: The Rosco disk diffusion method and the adaptated jinzhang antifungal panel could provide a simple procedure for the antifungal susceptibility testing of dermatophytes.
