Objective: Examining the expression of C-erbB-2,ER,PR and Muc1 in human breast cancer tissue, combined with clinical pathologic parameter, elucidate the value of Muc1 in diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer; to approach the clinical significance in metastasis of Muc1 in breast cancer by investing the relationship between Muc1 and E-cadherin in human breast cancer tissue. Methods: The expression of Muc1 and C-erbB-2,ER,PR,E-cadherin were examined by immunohistochemistry in 5 specimens of normal breast tissue, 5 specimens of breast fibroadenomas and 40 specimens of primary breast cancer. The 40 specimens of primary breast cancer were divided into a certain number groups on the basis of the result of clinical stages, the size of tumor, etc. The staining result was analyzed by the optical microscope, then investigating the difference between corresponding groups. Results: The expression of Muc1 and C-erbB-2 are all negative while that of ER,PR,and E-cadherin were all positive in normal breast tissue and fibroadenoma tissue. In 40 cases of breast cancer, the positive expression of ER is 22 cases (55.0%), which of PR is 23 cases (57.5%), that of C-erbB-2 is 15 cases...
