OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the study is to analyze the cases of THA revisions for loosened prosthesis, infected joint and acetabular deficiency and the follow-up result to offer referrence for THA revisions.METHODS: Since September 2000 to September 2005.9 cases with loosened hip component and bone defect were revised by morselized bone auto/allografting and cement or noncement prosthesis.There were 4 males and 5 females,the average age of patients was 69 years old (form 63 to 75 years old).The severity of acetabular component loosening was classified according to American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons(AAOS):Type I 4 cases,Typeâ…¡3 cases,Typeâ…¢2 cases ;Paprosky classification: Type I 1 case,Typeâ…¡A 3 cases,Typeâ…¡B 3 cases,Typeâ…¡C 2 cases. Cement was used in 3 cases and no cement was used in 4 cases, combined 2 cases.RESUITS: 8 THA patients who had recieved revisions were follow-up through the use of Harris scores. Time of follow-up is from 1 to 5 years, Mean time is 2.5 years .There are 7 cases who present no pain except one case who take medicine to relief the interval pain and obtain satisfied function in hip joint. There is no pain for the infected case in the hip joint. Wound was healed and satisfied function was obtained.
