Objective: To identify family, potential prenatal, perinatal and neonatal risk factors of child autism and the relation of Serotonin transporter polymorphism and child autism. Our research's objective is to decrease the occurance of child autism.Method: Use the case-control study to research the risk factors of autism. The research has two parts: Questionnaire survey and Molecular biology experiment.(1) The questionnaire survey chooses the 61 patients diagnosed by the CABS and CARS, and 185 normal children matching by sex and age who come from the normal school child. We analyze these data by unconditional logistic regression, t test and x~2 test. Multivariate logistic regression modified by the principal component analysis and final main effect functions were built. (2) We study the relation of serotonin transporter gene and autism by PCR.. The study chooses the35 patients diagnosed and 60 normal children. Results: (1) Questionnaire survey's result: The potential risk factors of autism include level of culture, mother character, Hereditary disease history, Passive smoking, work at computer, Influenza, threatened abortion, amniotic fluid, parents age when the baby was born, Pregnant week, sob and skin color of born, neonate suffocates and neonate's jaundice, convulsions, long-term intestines problem and way of feeding by unconditional logistic regression. Culture level of father, mother character, Hereditary disease history, amniotic fluid, sob and skin color of born, Pregnant week and way of feeding are founded by Multivariate logistic regression modified. These factors may raise the occurrence of the autism. (2) Molecular biology experiment's result: The polymorphism had no significant evident for serotonin transporter gene.Conclusion.' These factors may raise the occurrence of the autism. We should takesome effective ways to control the expose of these risk factors and may prevent the occurrence of the autism. We will continue to study the relation of gene and autism in future.
