Research On The Correlation Between Stress Response And Other Psychological Stress Related Factors In Civil Servants

Objective:To explore the relationship between stress response and other psychological stress related factors in the civil servant, and improve the ways of psychological health counseling and intervention.Metheds:500 civil servants were investigated with Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ), Stress Response Questionnaire (SRQ), Life Event Scale (LES) and Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) . The data were analyzed with SPSS 11.5 by Pearson correlation analyzed, stepwise linear regression analysis and one-way ANOVA and so on.Results:Comparative results of the stress response between the civil servant and the normal: there is significant difference(P<0.05,P<0.01) between them.1. to analyze the difference by independent-sample T-test and one-way ANOVA between different sex, age, position, grade, marriage and instruction level, the results showed: (1) in different sexes: there is significant difference of life events, coping styles, social supports between group 2,3,4 (p<0.05) . (2) in different spans of age (showed in table 4) : there is significant difference ofSER,SR,LCUl,PC,SOF,SS, and the detail differences between groups is: SER: group 2 and group 3;SPR: group 2 and group 3;SBR: group 4 and group 1, 3;SR: group 2 and group 1, 3, 4;LCU1: group 4 and group 1, 3, 4;LCU2: group 2 and group 3, 4;PC: group 2 and group 1, 3, 4;NC: group? and group 3;SS: in all groups. (3) in different positions (showed in table 6—7): there is significant difference of SER, SR and SOF;and the detail differences between groups is: SER: group 1 and group 2;SPR: group 1 and group 2, group 2 and group 1,3.LES: LCU1: group 1 and group 3;LCU2: group 1 and group 4: LCU4: group 1 and group 2;there isno significant difference of coping styles between groups. SS: group 3and group 4;group 2and group 3 .(4) in different grades (showed in table 8—9): there is significant difference of LCU3, SOF and SS;and the detail differences between groups is: SER: group 3 and group 1, 2;LCU2: group 2 and group 3;LCU3: group 2 and group 1, 3;SOF: group 2 and group 1, 3;SS: group 2 and group 1, 3. (5) in different marriages (showed in table 10-11): there is significant difference of LCU4, SIF and SS;and the detail differences between groups is: LCU2: group 1 and group 2;LCU4: group 1 and group 2, 3;PC: group land group 2;SIF: between 3 groups;SOF: group 1 and group 2, 3 SS: group 1 and group 2, 3. (6) in different instructive levels(showed in table 12-13): there is significant difference of SBR, LCU3, PC and the detail differences between groups is: SBR: group2 and group 1,3;LCU3: group 1 and group 2,3;PC: group 2 ~j group K3;SS: group 2 and group 3.2. the correlation analysis between stress response and stress related factors(showed in table 14-15): (1) it is significant difference between stress response and stress related factors (P < 0. 01 or P < 0. 001);(2) except for LCU3 with other factors and SS with LCU2,LCU3,LCU4,other factors had significantly related with each other(p<0.01,p<0.001.3. Multiple regression analysis on stress response and stress related factors revealed: the first factor that got into the equation is negative coping style, and the following factors that got into the equations were showed in table 16—19: SR: NC, PC, LCU2, LCU4, SIF, LCU4;SER: NC, LCU2, PC, SIF;SPR: NC, PC, LCU1, LCU4;SBR: NC, LCU2, PC, LCU1,LCU4.Conclusions:1. There had different difference between different sex, spans of age, position, grade, marriage and instruction level.2. There had differently significant correlations between stress related factors;3. The negative coping style was the main factor to influent the stress response, secondly were life events and social support.
