The Expression Of HIF-1α And Its Relationship To Apoptosis And Prognostic Significance In Human Glioma | Posted on:2006-12-04 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:K Fu | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2144360182966783 | Subject:Surgery | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objective: To explore the expression of HIF-1α in glioma and the relationship between its expression and bcl-2, bax and Prognostic of patients. Methods: Expression of HIF-1α bcl-2 and bax was assessed by immunochemistry staining in 45 cases of glioma and 10 cases of normal brain tissue. Results: HIF-1α was expressed in 28 of 45 (62.2%) cases of glioma, and not expressed the normal brain tissue. There were significant difference between low grade(â… ~â…¡grade) and high grade(â…¢~â…£grade) of glioma(P<0.05). HIF-1α was significantly correlated with expression level of bcl-2 and bax(r_s=-0.777 r_s=0.720, P<0.01). There also was a correlation between HIF-1α expression and the two-year survival time (P<0.05).Conclusion: The over expression of HIF-1α plays an important role in the apoptosis of glioma. It closely relates with the prognosis of glioma patients.
