To survey commercial female sex workers in entertainment establishments and to understand the AIDS knowledge, attitude and relative risk behaviors of them. To increase AIDS awareness rate and reduce risk behavior through health education and behavior intervention among female sex workers. The findings of the study show: AIDS awareness rate of target population had increased evidently. The rate of using condom had increased from 62.1% at baseline to 86.1 % (P<0.01) after intervention. The rate of choosing regular hospital for normative medical service had increased from 68.4% to 78.0% (P<0.05). Health education and behavior intervention is effective to increase the level of AIDS awareness and to reduce risk behaviors among female sex workers, but changing behaviors is a complex, gradual and continuous course; the increase of awareness level of female sex workers doesn't mean to choose correct behaviors at any time. It is an important work that health education goes deep into behavior intervention and reduces risk behaviors among female sex workers.
