The great glossary of psychology points out that "Wutai" personality assessment applies in effect, inherits and develops the theory of the Yellow Emperor's Medical Canon, fills up the gap of personality questionnaire on our country own which promotes the development of psychological examination and TCM.Personality contains individual ability, feeling, needs, intention, interest, attitude, temperament, character and constitutions etc, they are formed entirely which have dynamic coherence and continuity. The people with similar appearance are grouped for understanding their personality by regular standard.In fact, a distant source and a long stream went back to ancient times, According to morality, temperament and courage etc, people were classified different types of personality, that are also recorded in the Yellow Emperor's Medical Canon. This paper collects and collates difference personality types to analyze them with different viewpoints, they are especially in "Yin-yang Twenty Five Person "and "Tong Tian ".For example, the man with personality of wood type is like the "shangjue" when analogizing with the five tones, he is similar with the people of the east where the Green Emperor lives, he is green in color with a small head, a long face, large shoulder, flat back, upright back and small limbs, he is talent, being a mental worker with weaker physical strength and he often worries about his work, he can withstand the weather of spring and summer but not the weather of autumn and winter.A man with personality of "shaoyin" type who keeps on gaining petty advantages and having the intention of harming others, he is happy when someone is injured as if he has gained something for paying nothing, he is fond of doing harm to others, angry at the honor of others and has no sympathy with others;He has more "yin" and little "yang", as his stomach is small and his intestine is large, the functions of his six hollow organs are not harmonious, since the energy of his foot "yangming" channel is smaller and the energy of his hand "taiyang" channel is larger, when treating, the physician must be very careful as his blood can easily become exhausted, his Qi can easily be injured also.Inscape of personality type includes form, tone, color, channel and fettle. It is why the physician is asked to be familiar with the personality type of the patient.This paper points out that the classification of personality types in TCM are the pioneer of the same work in the world, which are recognized as advanced achievement rather than afterworld, and relates the method and the essential constitute of them, the theoretical foundation and thinking mode of them, the problems waiting for exploring and researching of them.Finally, the author expects that this paper could promote the application and researching on the ancient literature, it is very important to do research on this topic for the development of personality theories and TCM. It is believed that the learning development of medico-psychology has wide foreground which will make new contribution on human being's healthy project. |
