| Primary Liver cancer, one of the familiar malignant tumors, with high morbidity and mortality, has become the main killer of health. In the past ten years, the five-year survival livability has been improved because of the improvement of diagnose and application of new methods of treatment, but still lower than 20%. For this reason, to improve the quality of life and prolong the life-span has become the main aim of clinical treatment. Simultaneously, the liver cancer brings much difficulty to the treatment and consumes a lot of sanitation;therefore, QOL is undoubtedly a better method for the evaluation of the benefit and effect of health and sanitary care. And meanwhile, it serves as a supplement for the conventional evaluation indexes, which also echoes the suggestions by ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) on the measuring scope of QOL for patients of cancer.Based on the guidelines for the development of the disease -specific QOL module, the research has developed QOL for primary liver cancer through document analysis, interviews with patients in group and individual, health-related experts consultation, as well as the field survey. The FLC2.0 has 32 items for QOL, which consist of four functional scales, three symptomatic scales and four separated measuring items. With a self-report for QOL in addition, it adopts the Likert method of the five points' interval-equality scale for the evaluation. FLC(2.0)is used to investigate the QOL of patients of liver cancer, and the results of which shows that the retest correlation coefficient and Cronbach' s a coefficient are respectively 0.902, 0.922. Factorial analysis also indicates that the structure of the scale was accordant to hypothesis. The scale can differentiate the health quality of patients. The analysis of thesurvey for patients of liver cancer shows that their statistics of QOL is in normal distribution. The main factors concerned with QOL of the patients are age, health status and the current treatment condition. The FLC2.0 is credible, effective, and sensitive, which can be employed in clinical treatment. It can also be used as a supplement to the conventional evaluation index system of health, a reference for the choice of treatment methods and medication in health care management, as well as a measure to evaluate the benefit and effect of health care. |
