Elementary Analysis About The Thought Of ZHEN GAO

This paper is to study the thought of nourishing life in the book of ZHEN GAO compiled by Tao Hongjing. The preface of the paper introduces Tao Hongjing and the history of the formation of ZHEN GAO, and evaluates the historical value of the book. There are three chapters in the book. In the first chapter, started from the testual criticism of ZHEN GAO by Hu Shi, discusses the relation between Tao and the formation of the book, and the function of which strengthening supreme clarity school. The second chapter deals with the bedroom art. ZHEN GAO severely criticized the skill of sexual action which prevailed in WeiJin dynasty-the Yellow-Red way through the mouth of madam Zi Wei and QingLing-a supernational being. This chapter also expounds the way of Hidden books called by upper Tao-"OuJing", which embodies the unique nourishment of life possessed by supreme clarity school, and insistes the views of bedroom art of ZHEN GAO instead of the idea of secret couple-cultivation arts.ZHEN GAO denied the idea that the Yellow-Red way was the upper Tao and promoted the way of "OuJing". The author of ZHEN GAO insisted that the more important thing was the thought of the nourishment of life of supreme clarity school advocating internal thinking and ingesting vital breath. The third chapter expounds the views of advocating internal thinking and ingesting vital breath. I found that the way of the nourishment of life in ZHEN GAO is a combining method by many cultivations.
