Objective:Using yam powder as a food thickener instead of solidified powder,3 months of ingesting training for stroke patients with dysphagia was performed..Evaluated by observing the swallowing function,nutritional status,TCM syndrome scores and safety indicators.The feasibility of the agent provides a basis for the exploration of a safe and therapeutic tackifier for stroke patients with dysphagia.Method:70 patients were randomly distributed into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table,3 5 cases in each group.Patients from the observation group are according to the target swallowing viscosity by videofluoroscopy swallow study,in liquid food directly add yam powder thickening;for solid foods(such as Steamed Rice,meat),first mixed with water blender minced,reduce food hardness,then to add or not yam powder according to the viscosity,which is modulated into liquid food suitable for patients with individual viscosity on the basis of regular nursing and rehabilitation training for dysphagia.Yam powder by iron Dioscorea opposita Thunb in Jiaozuo city in Henan province,while the patients from control group are according to the target swallowing viscosity by videofluoroscopy swallow study,in liquid food directly add solidification powder.For solid foods(such as Steamed Rice,meat),first mixed with water blender minced,reduce food hardness,then to add or not solidification powder according to the viscosity,which is modulated into liquid food suitable for patients with individual viscosity on the basis of regular nursing and rehabilitation training for dysphagia.The solidification powder is made of the American Hormel brand Thick&Easy thickening powder.The intervention time was 3 months.Before and after the intervention,the scores of videofluoroscopy swallow study,Dysphagia grade evaluation score,nutritional status and TCM Syndromes of stroke were statistically analyzed.Results:(1)Research result on swallowing function VFSS score shows that the control group and the experimental group had statistically significant difference in the efficacy after 3 months’treatment(P<0.05),indicating that the two groups had clinical effects after 3 months’treatment.After 3 months of treatment,the efficacy of the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that there was no difference in the clinical efficacy between the two groups.(2)Research result on Dysphagia grade evaluation score shows that two groups had statistically significant difference in the efficacy after 3 months’ treatment(P<0.05),indicating that the two groups had clinical effects after 3 months’ treatment.After 3 months of treatment,the efficacy of the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that there was no difference in the clinical efficacy between the two groups.(3)Comparison of nutritional indicators shows that two groups after 3 months,the nutritional indicators(body weight,albumin and triceps brachial thickness)were significantly increased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the experimental group wasbetter than the control group(P<0.05).The results showed that the nutritional status of the control group and the experimental group had clinical effect after treatment,and the experimental group was better.(4)Research result on stroke TCM syndrome integral table score shows two groups after 3 months of treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes of the experimental group compared with before intervention were statistically significant(P<0.05),while the control group was not statistically significant,indicating that the experimental group had clinical effects in the treatment of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,comparison was statistically significant after 3 months of treatment in two groups between.(5)In the process of research,found that the two groups have improved effect on dysphagia,were compared and analyzed through several cases of two cases in effectively improving the degree of swallowing disorder,there was statistically significant difference in the number of the cases(P<0.05),indicating the difference in the total curative effect after the treatment course the two group.Conclusion:Yam powder as a thickening agent for ingesting training can improve the swallowing function,nutritional status and TCM syndrome scores of post-stroke patients. |
