Zhen Yang Needle-impotence (vital Huoshuai) Clinical Studies

Objective to observe clinical therapeutic effect and the mechanism of Zhenyang needle therapy on erectile dysfunction(ED). Methods Sixty cases of erectile dysfunction were randomly divided into an acupuncture group and a drug control group,30 cases in each group.The patients in the acupuncture group were treated with Zhenyang needle therapy;the patients in the control group were treated with Chinese medicine.The symptom integral and testosterone content before and after treatment were determined and the therapeutic effect in erectile dysfunction was assessed.Results The total effective rate was 86.7% in Zhenyang needle therapy group and 73.3% in the control group.After treatment, in both the two groups the symptom integral decreased significantly and testosterone content increased greatly (P<0.01),and the decreasing amplitude in the acupuncture group was superior to that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Zhenyang needle therapy has a definite therapeutic effect on erectile dysfunction,and better than the control therapy.
