Objective: To study the effects of Yupingfengsan transformed products on the immune function of mice. Methods: The effects of Yupingfengsan apozem and Yupingfengsan transformed products on the immune function of mice were studied in vivo and in vitro experiments. In vivo experiment, the animals were randomly devided into control group, CP group, Yupingfengsan apozem group, Yupingengsan transformed products group, apozem+CP group, transformed products+CP group. Four groups of mice were respectively dosed with Yupingfengsan apozem and Yupingfengsan transformed products at the dose of equivalent to 9.375g herbal slices per kilogram weight per day for 10 days except control and CP groups. Spleen index and thymus index, the number of WBC, the content of Hb, as well as the antibody forming cell number were detected. In vitro experiment, by applying the methods of serum pharmacology, the drug-containing serum was extracted, and its effects on peritoneal macrophages were observed by determining phagocytotic activity and production of NO and IL-1. Results: 1 Yupingfengsan apozem and Yupingfengsan transformed products were all able to increase spleen index, the content of Hb and the antibody forming cell number, and to reverse the immunosuppressive effects of CP significantly. Compared with Yupingfengsan apozem, the effects of Yupingfengsan transformed product are stronger. 2 The drug-containing serum can obviously enhance phagocytotic activity of peritoneal macrophages, and stimulate synthesizing and secreting of NO and IL-1. Conclusion: Yupingfengsan transformed products can enhance speicific immunity and nonspecific immunity of mice, and its effects were stronger than Yupingfengsan apozem. Significance: Our studies may contribute to provide a thought of exploring traditional Chinese medicine...
