Health Education has been one of the most effective methods of Essential Hypertension (EH), which has already been a common public health and social problems in China, and nurses are the main power in health education. How to enhance the ability of health education for undergraduate nursing students? How to connect the theory with practice? It's a question for study.Quantitative survey of this research was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of undergraduate nursing students health education for patients with EH and gave evident to the practice course of Health Education. Methods: After lessons on Health Education, nursing students gave health education of EH to 120 EH patients, according to the procedure of health education plan, implement and evaluation. Control group (n=122), treated by medical care and routine nurse only. Before leaving hospital, physical examination of blood pressure (BP) was made, and questionnaire survey on Hypertension related knowledge, degree of worriment was conducted results for the impact evaluation. 4 months after the beginning of the experiment, Hypertension relevant behaviors such as regular exercise, limit of salt intake, regular BP measurement, weight reduction and drug compliance were conducted results for the middle outcome evaluation. Results: 1. Through 12 hours practices of health education for the experimental group, the academic grade and appliance of 2001 nursing students who attend the health education for intervention group were better than the 2000s, the excellence ratio of 2001 students was 5.8%, the nicer wasl9.2%, the middle was 48.3%, the pass was 26.7% and none was failure.2. Knowledge: before health education, the knowledge according EH diagnosis, symptoms, laboratory examination, drug therapy, the method of measuring BP and relax were the lack knowledge, thus is the knowledge for strengthening. After healtheducation, the knowledge of diagnosis, danger factors, drug compliance, EH periods, eye examination, side effect of drugs, regular exercise, method of measuring BP were better than the control group, others were no significant difference. There were no significant difference about knowledge of EH before health education in two groups, experimental group grasped more knowledge after health education than before, and also than the control group, this implied the effectiveness of the undergraduate nursing students' health education. Through the binary Logistic analyze, the culture and course of disease were the main factors that affect the knowledge, others have no obvious relation with knowledge.3. Worriment: before health education, the mean of SAS is 46.46, 73.1% of the patients have worriment or anxiety > thus implied that most of the EH have anxiety. After the health education, there have significant difference between two groups.4.BP: after health education, SBP and DBP of the experimental group were significant descend than the control group while there were no statistic difference before.5.Behaviors: after health education, Hypertension relevant behaviors such as limit salts intake, regular exercises, smoking control, limit alcohol, regular measure BP of the experimental group were better than before. On the contrary, the control group has no difference.Through the binary Logistic analyze, EH related knowledge, career, stage and course of disease were the main factors that worked on the drug compliance of EH, others have no significant relation with knowledge. After health education, the drug compliance of the experimental group were better than the control group while there were no statistic difference before. Conclusion: 1. Experiment lesson in hospital health education enhance not only the appliance but also the academic grade of nurse students, it's feasible to...
