Relationship Between Syndrome Differentiation Rule Of The Five Zang Organs And Classification In Acne Vulgaris

In this paper the ralationship between syndrome differentiation rule of the Five Zang organs and classification method was studied through theoretical and epidemiology researches, which will offset the lack of extemalization and standardization of the diagnosis and treatment for ance vulgaris. It concludes the new progression of ance's syndrome differentiation and treatment through reviewing TCM' documents in acne. It is considered that the acne which grow in body surface must be representation of the internal pathological transformation, from the viewpoint "Holistic concept", there must be some relation among the patient's age, sex, skin rashs' color, number, shape, distribution and the internal Zang-Fu Organs' physiological function, pathological transformation.Using epidemiology method, 840 middle school students (the age is between 15-20 years) in the south of Fujian were studied, the students' age, sex, skin rushs' colour, number, shape, distribution and syndrome differentiation factors, and TCM syndrome were anylysed. The results show that: 1. The locations of the disease mainly are liver, kidney, spleen, lung, heart; with the syndromes Liver Depression Transforming to Fire, Fire Hyperactivity due to Kidney Deficiency, Retention of Damp-heat in the Spleen, the Lung Meridian Iavasion of Wind-Heat, Flaming of Heart-fire. 2. The skin rushs' distributions are correlative with the locations of the disease in Wu Zang Organs. Dividing the face into five areas, the upper part is the reflecting area of heart, the lower part is the reflecting area of kidney, the middle part is the reflecting area of spleen, both the left and right sides are the reflecting area of liver and lungs. There is a one to one relationship between skin rushs' distribution and certain Zang organ. 3. Liver and kidney are possessed of the majority in the locations of the disease in Five Zang Organs, Liver Depression Transforming to Fire and Fire Hyperactivity due to Kidney Deficiency are prevailing in the invasions. In female patients, the disease is located mainly at liver, with the syndrome of Liver Depression Transforming to Fire; In male patients, the disease is located mainly at kidney, with the syndrome of FireHyperactivity due to Kidney Deficiency. 4. In this investigation, the skin rushs' color, number and shape present simply, which are not correlative with syndrome and the location of Zang organs, which showes that there are not corresponding relation between modern medicine classification and TCM syndromes. This statistical results indicates that the distribution of TCM syndrome is regular in acne patients, which could offer new idea and method for the extemalization and standardization of TCM diagnosis and treatment in acne vulgaris.
