Pemphigus is a group of severely autoimmunitive bullous diseases with long course of disease and bad prognosis. Corticosteroid is predominant treatment drug. To study the therapy, prognosis and death of patients with pemphigus, we analyzed retrospectively the clinical data of 48 patients with pemphigus .In this study, 48 cases were classified into two groups with different treatment. Several parameters associated with control of state of the illness were studied. Results The differences are significant between several parameters of two groups.Age at onset and location of lesion are related to prognosis statistically. Conclusion Disease severity is an important factor in influencing initial steroid dose , disease-controlled maximal dose, duration of steroid reduction ,total steroid dosage before reduction and total steroid dosage during hospitalization. Immunodepressant is helpful for reduction of steroid dosage. We find prognosis is associated with age of disease onset ,disease severity and the location of lesions.
