An Experimental Study Of Therapeutical Effects On Presbycusis Of DieMaiLing

With the improvement of our living and health, our world isstepping into aging society, Presbycusis is a barrier of our normal lifeand communion. During the process of caducity, Hearing apparatus ischaracteristic of presbycusis. the etiology of presbycusis is poorlyunderstood despite years of investigation and the treatment isincomplete good for presbycusis. The research is focus on develop anew drug that is better curativeness and fewer side-effects. A lot ofstudys indicate that presbycusis is related to microcirculation of thecochlea, medicine of improving microcirculation is used to treatpresbycusis. IN this study, normal aged guinea pig do animal model ofpresbycusis to observe morphologic and hearing physiologicalchanges of hair cell. A traditional Chinese medicine calledDieMaiLing (DML) which has the active component of adenosine andisoflavone is used to improve cochlea microcirculation, get rid ofH2O2 and increase hearing threshold。We choose 18 guinea pig feeded in the condition of low noise,which is randomly separated into DML group and control group, andthen we recorded ABR threshold. We infected DML (5ml/Kg) intoDML guinea pigs and infected saline (5ml/Kg) into control guineapigs every day. After 30 days, we recorded ABR threshold (P<0.05)and observe the changes of hair cell under a scanning electronspecimens (SEM). In this study, after injecting DME or saline toguinea pigs ,we observed that threshold of DML group was lowedthan that of saline group, threshold shift has statistical significance。We observed that the mass of hair cells of control guipea pigs waslosted and Lodging, but those of DML group was comparativelyintegrated. So wo think that DML can treat presbycusis effectively.
