Objective To analyze the clinical results of anterior cervical decompression and fusion of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (GSM). Methods Eighty-four cases of GSM were reviewed. The pathogenesis, history and characteristics on imaging were analyzed. All were treated with anterior cervical decompression and fusion with autogenous iliac bone graft. The researching time after operation was from 5 months to 2 years and 9 months, the average time was 18.8 months. Results Spinal function wax improved obviously in 71 cases (84.5%). The rate of fusion 3-6 months after operation was 100%, no fixture rupturing or loosing. According to JOA method, the average improvement was 2 points. Conclusions The anterior cervical surgical treatment has obvious clinical outcome on CSM.
