Objective:To observe the surgical results of cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM) treated by anterior cervical decompression, bone grafting fusion and internal fixation, and analyse the correlative affecting factors.Method:40 cases of CSM treated by the anterior cervical approach in recent 6 years were collected in this study.According to JOA 17 score method, scores of preoperation,one-week postoperation and the end of follow-up and the increase of intervertebral height were writed down to analyse the surgical results.Cases were divided into two groups(excellent group and good group) which were according to the rate of melioration to analyse the factors that affected the surgical results.Result: JOA scores of preoperation, postoperation and the end of follow-up were increased obviously, and the intervertebral height of the fusing vertebrae was also increased apprently. It showed that the surgical results of anterior cervical decompression, bone grafting fusion and internal fixation treating cervical spondylotic myelopathy were opositive.Patients in the eximious group showed yonger ages, greater preoperative JOA scores, shorter duration symptoms, and higher rate of the increase of intervertebral height. Conclusion:The postoperation and long-term results of surgical treatment on CSM with anterior cervical decompression, bone grafting fusion and internal fixation are definite. The patient ages, duration of symptoms, preoperative JOA score and the rate of the increase of intervertebral height can influence the treatment results.
