Objective To observation the changes of ventricular remodeling and the plasma concentrations of neurohomone of patients with myocardial infarction under treatment of anti-neurohomone drugs. Method The study enrolled 78 consecutive patients with myocardial infarction from Jan 2002 to April 2005 and who were randomly treated wtih irbesartan (150mg/d) and carvedilol(20mg/d) [Group C] or with captopril(37.5-75mg/d) and betaloc(50-100mg/d) [Group D]. The ultrasoundcardiogram were performed at enrolling time, and after 3,6,12 month. The plasma concentrations of neurohomone were examined at enrolling time and after 6 month. Results The plasma concentrations of Ald was significantly increased in the group C compared with that in the group D (p=0.0055); The plasma concentrations of PRA and Ang â…¡ were significantly increased in the group D compared with those in the group C (both p<0.05). After 12 month follow-up the impoverment of ventricular remodeling and left ventricular function was improved in the group C compared with that in the group D . Conclusion Beside the influence on the plasma concentrations of neurohormone, the combined use of anti-neurohomone drugs such as irbesartan and carvedilol or with captopril and betaloc has significant safe efficacy on improving left ventricular remodeling and left ventricular function in patients with myocardial infarction.
