Objective :Atherosclerosis(AS) is chronic and progre ssive disease which was involved in multiple risk factors Ultrason. ography with quantitative technology are available to evaluate the progress of carotid intima-media thickness (IMT).With the development of carotid artery disease , carotid artery which is exposed easily becomes the main artery detected by 2D-ultraso und. The association between carotid atherosclerosis and ische mic heart disease is thought to be more and more important. However the study on relationship between multiple cardiovas cular risk factors and carotid IMT is less explored. In This paper,we determined to use ultrasonography to analyze the relationship between multiple cardiovascular risk factors and carotid IMT The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of cardio vascular risk factors on carotid IMT.,we would acquire information about concerning diagnosis and prevention of AS. Methods:A total of 227 subjects were enrolled to take physical examination in community or treatment in hospital.Their ages ranged between 45 and 57 years. (139males,88 females)and with a mean of 53.25±3.01 years. Most subjects have no less than 2 risk factors.no serious AS and receive rountine medicine therapy. There are trained persons investigate their height, weight ,blood pressure,BMI,and fasting blood glucose, lipid profile, carotid ultra sonography. The colorful Doppler ultrasound instrument is American Sequoia 512, The subjects take septle position.Different parts including CCA. BIF.CIA were measured and calculated the average thickness .(normal IMT < 0.90mm, abnormal IMT ≥0.90mm,plaque IMT ≥1.30mm.According to the IMT.the subjects were divided into three groups.controlled group1,abnormal group2,plaque group3. Cardiovascular risk factors include(1)Hypertention (Accord ing to WHO/ISH 1999 hypertention guideline)Subjects have past or present HP history ,whether they take medicine or not. In the standard condition.SBP≥140mmHg and /or DBP≥90mmHg. (2) Diabete, FBG≥7.0mmol/L or random blood glucose≥11.1mmol/L.(3) Abnormal lipid profile (NECP ATPⅢ)TC ≥5.2mmo/L,LDL-L ≥3.38mmol/L, HDL-L ≤1.04mmol/L, TG ≥1.70mmol/L.(4) The family history of cardiovascular disease (male < 55years of age ,female <65years of age .( 5)Smokin g: smoking index=chalks×smoking years.(6)Obesity: overweight BMI ≥25Kg/m2(according toAsia-Pacificstandard Abdominal fatty is believed WC≥85cm males, WC≥80cm females. The phenomena that one person hasmultiple CRF is considered as clusting of cardiovascular risk factors. The risk factor score(RFS) range 0 to 5.No risk factor is equal to 0.One risk factor means 1score.As principle subjects exposing to more risk factor have more scores. SPSS10.0 software is available to statistical analysis .All the numerical data were devoted by chi-square(ⅹ2) test and the measurement data who were normal distribution and homogeneity of variance was denoted by students test ,other data were denoted by ANOVA.Some data were analyzed by rank sum test(size of testa=0.05) .The relationnship between carotid IMT and cardiovascular risk factors was analyzed by Spearsman correlation and partial corelation. Results:1 The basic characteristics of cardiovascular risk factor of study population: Because blood glucose and li pid profile were not normal distribution. After transformation, they received rank sum test .As table 1 showed, BMI .DBP. TG. HDL-L.and percentage of family history were compared in three groups. The value of test statistia were BMI:F=2.300,DBP F=2.671,TG:H=5.321,HDL-C:H=3.972﹑percentage of family historyⅹ2=100.567,(size of testa=0.05) There were no different among three groups.(P>0.05)。The value of test statistia were WC:F=6.967,SBP:F=8.358 ,FBG:H=12.725,TC : H=10.806 ,LDL-C : H=8.450 and smoking index F=25.843(size of testa=0.05),The comparision of three groups were statistical significant(.P<0.05)。And the levels of.WC.SBP. TC. LDL-L.FBG.and smoking index were accompanied with theimpairment process of carotid artery IMT. 2 The frequencies distribution of abnormal cardiovascu...
