Objective: to investigate the expression of cd44v6 and c-myc in humansquamous cell carcinomas of the uterine cervix and its clinical significance ,andthe relation between them. Methods: Specimens from 30 case of normalsquamous epithelium of cervical tissue,60 case of invasive carcinoma of uterinecervix in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded were analyzed by tissue microarraytechnology and immunohistochemistry method. Results: CD44v6 protein wasobserved low expression in normal cervical tissue and high expression insquamous cell carcinomas of the uterine cervix(p<0.001).PLUM-Ordinalregression demonstrates that cd44v6 protein correlated to pathological grade anddepth of invasive cervical canal and lymph node metastasis(p=0.048,0.038,0.043,respectively),but no correlated to age and clinical stage(p>0.05,respectively).C-myc protein was observed higher expression in normalcervical tissue than cervical cancer(p<0.001). PLUM-Ordinal regressiondemonstrates that C-myc protein correlated to clinical stage and depth ofinvasive cervical canal and lymph node metastasis(p=0.032,0.004,0.001,respectively),but no correlated to age and pathologicalgrade(p>0.05,respectively). Conclusion:CD44v6 and C-myc may play aimptotant role in prognosis of the human squamous cell carcinomas of theuterine cervix. There are positive correlation between them,if deteched themtogether it will be help for in the progression and metastasis and prognosis ofcervical cancer.
