Predict Factors On PTSD After Traffic Accident

Object: To find the risk factors on later PTSD after traffic accident. Methods: 87 cases wounded patients serve as study objects after traffic accident, they are continuously collected from Orthopedics hospital and No 5 Hospital in Dalian city during from Mar.2004 to Sep. We have setting the 3 or 5 months after traffic accidents as base line period. During the base line period, we have investigated Self Making Questionnaire, Essence Personality Questionnaire (EPQ),Passive Social Support Scale(PSSS),Life Events Scale(LES),Typical Copping Skill Questionnaire(TCSQ).We also used self check list(SCL-90) to traffic accident wounded patients for psychology state; After traffic accident,we have used PCL-C (post traumatic stress disorder check list for civic) to evaluated PTSD, and then futhurly used DSM-IV (Diagnosis and statistic of mental disease version 4) to made standard diagnosis. Results:1) the prevelace of 3rd month after the accident is 31%;the min score is 35,the max score is 71 of PCL-C;2) Between the PTSD and non PTSD,family address and nervous ,psychosis of EPQ and negative coping of TCSQ and bad things affection of LES and all factors of SCL-90 have the significant difference.3) the result of the Logistic analysis indicate nervous and phychosis are the predictors of PTSD. Conclusion:Pay attention to the psychology of the patients and personality factor maybe is the core factor which predict the later PTSD after traffic accident.
