| It has been more than 2000 years since glossoscopy was used in Canon of Internal Medicine. The changes of picture of the tongue, like a mirror, can reflect the ups and downs of the vital-qi, the extent of invasion of the pathogen objectively. So Glossoscopy plays a very important role in diagnostics of TCM and is regarded as more and more important. Gradually, it has developed deeply on clinical and experimental studies.In recent years, malignant tumors became the disease which hurt the health and life seriously. In spectrum of diseases, The malignant tumors have ascended flyingly up to the top first death cause in the diseases ranking in city and ranked the second reason in countryside. About one fifth of all the deaths is caused by cancer. So study on malignant tumors has become the society regarding problome. Followed by the development of the view of combined therapy of tumour , TCM stands out more and more prominently in diagnose and therapy of tumors. Glossoscopy, one of the four diagnostic methods of TCM, is the most characteristic diagnostic method. It has important meaning for the diagnosis and prognosis of malignant tumors . A study of Gu shows tongue coating become exfoliative when malignant tumor patients' condition deteriorate. In our study, we also found that mirror-like tongue can appear in malignant tumor patients who are in advanced stage. In order to afford objective evidence for clinical diagnosis, we adopt the method of combination of clinical study and experimental study to explore and analyze the mechanism of formation of mirror-like tongue. 1.clinical studyIt shows in this study that mirror-like tongue is most presented in patients with malignant tumor who are in intermediate and advanced stages andhas close correlation with progression of disease; mirror-like tongue alsohas certain correlation with age of patient. No correlation is observed betweenmirror-like tongue and age and sex, so further argumentation is needed; Thisstudy also shows gastroenteric tumor patients can present mirror-like tongueeasiely.2.empirical study of clinicTo explore the mechanism of formation of mirror-like tongue and the immunological state, we took tumor patients as study object, detecting their serum OKT, NKC. 2. 1 detection of immune functionTo explore the mechanism of formation of mirror-like tongue in lung tumor patients if it has immunology basic, we detected the activity of the patients' serum OKT, NKC. It shows that the OKT, NKC of malignant tumors group are lower than control group, and the the difference is sifnificant; Compared with non-mirror-like tongue group , CD4 of mirror-like tongue group has tendency of decrease and CD8 has tendency of increase, but there was no remarkable difference. CD4/CD8 of mirror-like tongue group is decreased markly compared the other group, and the difference is sifnificant by statistical treatment. 2. 2 detection of biochemical indicatorTongue coating can' t be produced mostly because of exaustion of stomach-yin and severe impairment of stomach-qi , so mirror-like tongue formed. It was observed that changes of picture of the tongue have certain correlation with electrolyte metabolism of which hypopotassemia is the closest . To explore the relationship between mirror-like tongue of patients with malignant tumor and disorder of fluid and electrolyte balance and to discover the clinical machanism of the formation of mirror-like tongue deeply, we detect the biochemical indicator of the patients such as serum K, Na, Cl. In this study , we found that serum K of mirror-like tongue group is lower markly than non-mirror-like tongue and control group , the difference is significant. But there is no remarkable difference in the changes of serum Na, Cl. 3.conclusionFrom the study , we can see there is close relationship between the formation of mirror-like tongue and deficiency of immune function .Mirror-like tongue has close correlation with the hypopotassemia due to chronic consume and exaustion of YIN-fluid in patients in intermediate and advanced stages . |
